Meet the new participant of ZARYA AiR program: Verena Issel (b. 1982) is an artist focused on installation art. Verena lives and works in Hamburg, Germany. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and University of Hamburg, she has two Master degrees: MFA in sculpture/installation and film and MA in Classical Philology. For many years, Verena Issel is a participant of the various artist-in-residence programs around the world: South Korea, Shanghai, Taiwan, Japan, Lithuania, Germany, and Belgium. Besides the residence programs, her solo exhibitions were displayed in Norway, France, Japan, Shanghai. Mainly, her installation art is dealing with its autonomous components, touching upon the themes like literature, linguistics, philosophy, etc. In ZARYA AiR, Verena is going to work on a complex installation based upon her study on local architecture and its history.
